WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a CPI Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, or modification of hardware for a scope of a project by analyzing the hardware requirement documents.
The Senior Electronic Engineer will have a direct impact on several products and will be responsible for:

Analog and digital design of electronics features from the requirements to the final validation and implementation
Working with a team to design, develop, or modify electronics by analyzing appropriate requirement documents with solid understanding of principles, theories, and concepts in the electronics engineering field
Selecting/evaluating components, developing schematics, analyzing circuits, performing analog/digital simulations, and evaluating designs for testability, manufacturability, and reliability
Debugging and testing hardware using software and hardware tools as needed
Using analytical problem-solving skills to resolve electronics related concerns including PCB fabrication at suppliers and provide technical support to prevent future anomalies
Performing failure evaluations and developing corrective and preventative action recommendations
Sensors design specialist
Providing expert analysis, testing and evaluation of complex sensor/system designs, sensor manufacturing processes and techniques, and patentable concepts
Optical system design and simulation with tools such as Zemax and TracePro
Implementing sensors by developing pure analogue electronics for sensor control and signal conditioning
Continuous improvement to CPI Hardware development through
Organization of electronics design peer reviews and other related technical reviews for the various CPI electronics team
Facilitating peer reviews and collecting lessons learned
Working on problems where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors
Reviewing design drawings and provide design recommendations
Applying engineering knowledge to write engineering standards and specifications
Utilizing investigational analysis methods such as DFMEA and other problem solving tools
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
An individual with a solid background in optical design and simulation using tools like Zemax and must be able to design sensor controls and signal conditioning analog electronics
An individual with sensor design expertise, able to work with a system architect for analog electronics to translate the requirements into a concept, approve, validate, and implement the solution in the final product
An individual able to define a sensor characterization plan and carry out that characterization in order to demonstrate the adequate performance of the sensor system
Qualifications and Requirements
Master's degree in Electronics analog/digital or Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience. Opto-electronics certification/diploma a definite plus
10-15 years in the domain
Experience with optical devices, design, and simulation
Experience with analog simulation (such as SPICE)
Experience in use of tools to test and troubleshoot electrical circuit boards
Experience with microprocessors/microcontroller and/or FPGA based digital design
Experience in electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC)
Ability to use statistical methods in evaluating and determining design parameters/limits a plus
FPGA design using VHDL development languages and associated design software, and simulation tools is a plus
Schematic experience in Mentor Graphics Dx is a plus
